Glow by Open Worship

Queer. Creative. Christian. Community.

Sponsored in part by a Ministry-With Grant from the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Glow by Open is a space designed specifically by and for LGBTQIA+ folks to come together in creative, Christ-centered community. We currently gather for social events and for conversation led by members of our community. No matter your doubts or questions, you are welcome here!

At Glow, we believe:

  • That queer folks are beautifully and colorfully made by God and are therefore of sacred worth, not in spite of who we are, but because of who we are

  • That each of us, queer or straight, trans or cis, is endowed by that same God with unique gifts

  • That creativity and spirituality are intimately and inseparably intertwined

  • That innate gifts uncovered through creative acts reveal our identities, radiant and multi-faceted, as reflections of God in whose image we are made

  • That these gifts are given by our Creator to share and shine forth.

Glow explores the space where these ideas intersect. We are a community of queer Christ-followers (and the people who love us) seeking what it means to be who we were made to be by sharing our God-given gifts. From art, music, and dance to actions we don’t often recognize as creative, we want to teach and try it all, together.  Because God is our Creator.  And by sharing our own creativity (in all these forms and more!), we can learn more about who God is and who They are actively desiring for us to be. Together. Here. Now.

That's the light we're shining.  That's our Glow.
